Smort is a creative connective app created to solve the problem of disconnect between students from the main to University of Waterloo's Satellite campuses.

For this project, I was the User Experience researcher of the mobile app, I conducted user testing, created personas and experience journey maps. I was also one of the lead designers, creating wireframes, high fidelity wire frames, and in charge of the interactions of the app -using Figma, Sketch, and Invision.
As a team, we were provided with the problem: "How are we able to connect the creative minds of students from the same University that are physically separated studying on different satellite campuses -in different cities?"
The satellite campuses are home to some of UWaterloo's most creative majors -Stratford school of Interaction Design and Business and Cambridge School of Architecture. Collectively, we wanted to give students studying on UWaterloo's Satellite campuses a sense of belonging and connectivity to those on the main campus and be able to interact; and utilize their sills in projects and startups.
A general survey went out to the UWaterloo Student body, with over 300+ entries done on Google Surveys. Research questions included things such as "Did you know about UW's Satellite Campuses" to "Do you feel like you are missing out on a 'university experience' being on a separate campus?"
Says, Think, Does, Feel map
This experience map illustrates the difference betwween two different UWaterloo students, each coming from a different campus and each in different programs. The initial research was done by surveying students on the main campus as well as those outside of campus using google forums and physical data entry.

Invision was used to create the skeleton of the mobile and desktop application. Mockups, Low and High Fidelity Products were created using Figma in collaboration with cross functioning teams and Project Manager.
